Yes, Shelby could be more polite but his quest for bacon overcomes he's natural good manners. And it's not that he dislikes Lois--she's basically harmless--but he knows she isn't as awesome as she thinks she is and with Lana, he knows she's a straight up cold-blooded shrew. So, Shelby needs to make sure to put both LL's in their proper place :):)

And of course he recognizes that Chloe and Lex are beyond fabulous :):)
