How many lifetimes does it take to live in the present day?

This is such a wonderfully romantic and time-traveler-esque question and I especially love that it pertains to Chlex.

After everything that Lex went through in the Smallville universe, it would only take him one lifetime to realize that trying to have any type of relationship with Clark or Lana was doomed to fail from the beginning, so he should just set his sights on the sassy blonde reporter, forget about anyone else, and whisk her away to live in Metropolis, happily ever after.  The End :):)
