Strange times

I've had some strange times these last couple of weeks.



Saw the musical Catch Me If You Can on Broadway and it was awesome!  It was like a good old fashioned musical from the 1930's with lots of singing, dancing and costume changes.  I predict the show and the stars winning many Tony Awards.

But then on the way back home, I had the worst case of motion sickness and I need to ask--I'm 38 years old--how can I still get car sick??!!

Then, a couple of days after that, I had the allergy attack from hell--I actually took a day off work and just slept the day away-- apparently this is the worst pollen season ever.  I never had allergies as a child, developed them as an adult,  so I'm still learning how to deal with them but I wonder if I should go to the doctor and get an Official Diagnosis  i.e. I have an allergy to Maple trees.

So all in all, lots of strange medical stuff that I feel I'm too old to be suffering from but apparently my body feels differently :):)


ETA:  Overall I am feeling better, but man, when it rains, it pours!

I'm sorry. :( Having the doc identify the specific allergy might be helpful in the future.

Ugh, allergies. They're terrible. And mine have been crappy this year too. I went to my eye doctor's last week (my yearly checkup) and he told me my eyes were really, really dry and gave me two kinds of drops to use.

Do you take anything for yours? I recommend Claritin (not Claritin D, just the regular kind). You can get it over the counter (and I buy the generic brand--exact same dosage and active ingredient, just MUCH cheaper). It's a life-saver for me.

You know, I didn't even have allergies until I hit 35, my dr. said that sometimes folks go through changes in their mid to later 30s and get this sort of thing.

I'm sitting here waiting for my hay fever to kick in any day now... grass pollen is my big problem :(

And I don't get motion sickness (not so far, anyway, touch wood!) but I did have the most weird thing a couple of years ago - we'd been sailing, and when we went ashore to do some shopping I started feeling really ill, thought I was coming down with the sickness bug that the kids had had... got back on the boat, suddenly felt ravenous, ate a huge meal of greasy fish and chips and never looked back. It turns out I was land sick, which was a very strange thing!

I feel so terrible for people with seasonal allergies. I mean, I feel for myself with my animal allergies (mostly because I can never have a kitty), but mine are easier to avoid. Yours are impossible without a plastic bubble.

I'm a fan of zyrtec (or the Costco knockoff version). It's dehydrating, but has very few other side effects.

Hello, I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing terrible allergies. I know its not fun at all because more than half of my uni cohort has this weird extended allergy thing happening (it might be the southerly winds bringing pollen down from the Blue Mountains).

Anyway, I hope you feel better soon, and you should try some Claratyne-D (ionno if you can get it in the US of A) is better than standard Claratyne 'cause its got a decongestant in it as well.
