The THEATER!!
I must talk about the wonderful theatrical events I have been attending!
I saw Pippin on Broadway and Pride and Prejudice at one of our local equity theaters, the Bristol Riverside Theater. Both productions were beyond excellent.
For me, the highlight of Pippin was not the acting or singing which were both excellent, but the insanely fabulous acrobatic feats that were happening on the stage left and right. The circus/carnival atmosphere was really spot on especially when you’re watching the performers jump through lighted hoops and dangle from trapeze bars. And their costumes were very circus-like in that the girls were wearing sparkly leotards and the men had on stripped pants--very cool :)
In Pride and Prejudice, all of the cast were excellent but of course Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy were the best parts. When they started their bantering you were on the edge of your seat because it was so deliciously filled with tension. The dresses for all of the ladies were lovely and spring-like with the flowery muslins but I was most impressed with the high boots the men were wearing--beyond awesome :)
Overall two excellent theatrical endeavors.
