Today is going to be 60 degrees Fahrenheit which is insanely warm for February in the Northeast, but tonight the temperature is going to drop about thirty degrees and we’ll getting accumulating snow tomorrow—maybe 3 to 6 inches.  How bizarre is that?

Randomness ahoy :) )

I saw the Lantern Theater's production of George Bernard Shaw's Mrs. Warren's Profession yesterday and it was exceedingly well done.  What is even more outstanding is that the social commentary Shaw was making in 1880's Brisitsh society still holds up today--well done sir :)

I haven’t done one of these is awhile—a Random Post of Randomness—Summer Addition :):)

Randomness ahoy! :) )

Thus far, I can tell you that I need to see Hamilton but I don't think tickets will actually be available until next year--good for the show and the performers, but bad for me :):)   And I also kind of want to see Waitress--it looks rather adorable :)

I also saw The Conjuring 2.  It had some scary moments--I also liked that it was set in London--and I always love leanring about Ed and Lorraine Warren's cases, but the first movie was better :):)

It is about 50 degrees Fahrenheit which is awesomely warm for February, the snow is melting and Punxsutawney Phil didn’t see his shadow, so we are in for an early spring—YEAH!!

Theater squeeing :) )

Yes, today is my birthday and I need to talk about all of my awesome theatrical experiences!

Randomenss ahoy :):) )

First, Happy Halloween everybody!  I love seeing all of the kids trick or treating—they are just too damn cute in their costumes. :):)  Family and the theater squeeing :):) )
kitmerlot_1213: (Cupcake motto)
I saw two excellent plays this weekend, one in NYC and the other in Center City:

Finding Neverland and Antigone )

So, I have to cover the crappy job for three days and right now it's one day down, two more to go--pray for me my friends :):)

But now onto happier times because I shall now talk about an excellent play--The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee--and movie--The Man from U.N.C.L.E--I saw:):)

Allow me to squee about Illya :):) )

The poor man is playing one of the most complicated roles in Shakespeare, and now BC's having his every move talked about and scrutinized and it's rather unfair to him and the other performers.  I do appreciate that he is talking to the fans about how to act properly in the theater but it has to be throwing him off of his game and destroying his concentration.  I am sure this is not how he pictured playing Hamlet.

First, onto the good:  I saw the play The Hound of the Baskervilles at the Lantern Theater and it was an extremely funny and zany rendition of the classic mystery story and it was also rather inventive with the three actors playing all of the characters—I love stuff like that :)

Now onto the not so good, in regards to TV at least:

Hannibal, Pretty Little Liars and Sherlock fandoms )
kitmerlot_1213: (BBC Sherlock/status)
I of course now have my list of plays/musicals that I want to see:

1.  An American in Paris
2.  Finding Neverland
3.  The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time
4.  Something Rotten

It is a short list this year because quite a few of the "big" productions were putting me off--the dance number from Gigi felt too damn frantic and Fun Home looks like a musical that's trying too hard to give us a message--but I loved how so many of the shows were British/American collaborations.  NICE!  :)

And for my other lj friends, Happy Monday!  I know that I am enjoying my day off and attempting to work on my Chlex story challenge--I know what I want to happen, but I'm struggling with the words.

I did see Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead yesterday—that was the last of the three play series I had at the Wilma theater.  I enjoy the crap out of Tom Stoppard plays and this one is particularly brilliant because it takes these two Shakespearian side characters that no one really thinks about and makes them infinitely human.  Truly brilliantly done.

Now I have some complaints about the Supernatural finale: )

I hope everyone who celebrates has a Happy Easter and/or a Happy Passover and if neither applies, a Happy Sunday!  :):)  I'm planning on eating a lot of ham, pineapple stuffing, and of course chocolate eggs, but I also need to leave room for Peeps and jelly beans--it's a full day I tell ya :):)

How I spent my Easter vacation :) )

Feb. 13th's question is from the lovely [livejournal.com profile] purple_moon123 Since I know you like the Sherlock's. Have you seen Frankenstein which Cumberbatch and Miller. If so which did you like best and which role? If not who do think would do better in each role??

My Sherlockian answer this way :):) )

kitmerlot_1213: (Ben/Martin/laughing)
Well, I have some really excellent news--I now only have five more days of coverage for the horrible job--WOO HOO!!   I still absolutely hate covering the stupid job and I'm still resentful that he planned his surgery to begin when my vacation ended, but at least it will be over sooner.

Now onto happier news! )
kitmerlot_1213: (Alex/smiling)
My day in New York was lovely!  We had great weather, it wasn't too sunny or hot, the musical, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, was wonderfully goofy with some genuinely laugh out loud moments, the singing was gorgeous--it was truly wonderful :)  And of course we were able to go to an Irish pub  where my mom could get her shepherd's pie and I could get my fish and chips and where we could also get s Harp's.  Again, FABULOUS!  :):)

BROADWAY!

kitmerlot_1213: (AM's play)
I will be going to NYC to see a Broadway play tomorrow and I can't wait!  I know I want to see either A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder or Bullets Over Broadway--I just hope there's a good choice of shows at the half-price booth.  *Fingers crossed*  :)
kitmerlot_1213: (Ben/Martin/laughing)
On Saturday, I saw the excellent Chrisopher Durang play Vanya & Sonia & Masha & Spike at the Bucks County Playhouse and overall, it was wonderful.A slight rant behind the cut :) )
kitmerlot_1213: (Alex's phone)
Just came back from seeing the second in the Bucks County Playhouse play series that I signed up for and the production of Ira Levin's Deathtrap was extremely well done.  I remembered the initial double cross but the subsequent ones had me reeling.  A very clever and well plotted murder mystery--well done Mr. Levin :):)
