Tragic events

I know that today has now been deemed Patriot Day and that it's the 13th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on 9/11, but I need to actually talk about a tragic event that happened two weeks ago, the Saturday of Labor Day weekend.
Three fifteen year old boys were killed in a car accident in the Poconos (a mountain chain in PA) and my nephew was friends with one of the boys--they played lacrosse together but didn't go to the same school. Apparently, there were six kids in the car and they were coming back from having breakfast when the crash happened. I need to also mention that the driver was an unlicensed fifteen year old girl.
There are now rumors circulating that the mother of the fifteen year old girl gave her the keys. Now, maybe that's to mitigate the girl's responsibility--she could be facing vehicular manslaughter charges as well as reckless endangerment and if the DA tacks on car theft--she could be facing an extremely long prison sentence.
I'm just an aunt and I feel sick at the thought of these young kids dying so horribly, I can't imagine the devastation and loss felt by the families and especially the parents.
