Last day of vacation and my dad's b-day
Oct. 19th, 2015 10:09 amWell, today is the last day of vacation and that means back to the salt mines tomorrow :) Today also would have been my father's seventy third birthday, so my mom and I are celebrating by going to see the movie Bridge of Spies--my dad loved mystery/spy movies where he could figure out the crime along with the detective. I love you and miss you very much, Dad--until we meet again :).

RIP James Garner

My entire family, especially my dad, adored The Rockford Files--my dad always loved how Rocky's best friend Angel was kind of smarmy but in the end a good guy--and James Garner always seemed so larger than life in the role. God bless him and his family.
The Bletchley Circle
Apr. 20th, 2014 10:55 pmSo, Easter dinner has come and gone, the clean up has occurred and I'm tired--WOO HOO! And yes, both uncles came but they look horribly unhealthy and God love them, but they barely interact with each other. There are only three brothers left and they should be bonded--the fact that they aren't even remotely friendly is beyond pathetic.
Now, I need to ask if anyone else watches The Bletchley Circle? The mysteries are clever and I like the deep friendship amongst the four women. Very nice :)

The Town, an excellent crime drama :)
Oct. 19th, 2010 09:07 pmI saw the movie The Town this past Saturday. It was a superb movie, filled with some kickass action sequences, and some damn humorous lines.
And also after seeing it, all I wanted to do was curse. In a Charlestown/South Boston accent :)
I just finished this pretty cool book called The Intrigue at Highbury, and if you think the title sounds kind of Jane Austen-esque, you would be correct.

A/N: I decided to write this for two reasons: the first being I enjoy trying to write in a 1950's, hard-boiled detective noir kind of way, and the second reason? I had to make the insanity of the episode Promise go far, far away from my brain. Orginally posted at Naughty-Seduction the Chlex fan site.
A/N 2: I borrowed a lot of dialogue from various movies, and TV shows, so thanks to Mystery Science Theater 3000, the comedy sketch Talk, You from The State, The Petrified Forest, and Mae West.
