You know, I was born on the 13th of the month, so Friday the 13th holds no fear for me, but I might have to change my mind from the hatchet job the H5o writers have done to Steve and Danny.

I was at my niece's confirmation today and it was a truly lovely day: beautifully sunny and not too hot. I love reading the different names the kids took and it's rather cool that so many of the old fashioned names are still in vogue.

( Now onto my squeeing about TV: )

Springtime really is a beautiful time of year and I can’t tell you how wonderful it is to see the green grass, and blooming flowers and to feel just how warm out it is. Now this week has been difficult because I’ve been covering the hellish job and it is even more annoying than it was before, but tomorrow is Friday and I’m keeping my head down and just plugging away. But enough about real life.

First, my prayers go out to all of the people hurt and killed at the Navy Yard in D.C. today--a very frightening day.

And second, I need to talk about TV and my hopes for the upcoming season:

It feels like all of these awful tragedies happen all at once. Seeing all of the destruction from the tornado in Oklahoma is just heart-breaking and it would have to be terrifying to feel that horrible wind and know there was no where you could run. And than that poor British soldier's just walking down the street and he gets attacked and hacked to death by some militant psychos. My prayers go out to all of the people affected by all of these tragic events.

I liked the episode but than again I adore any episode that highlights the awesomeness of Scotty Caan’s Danny Williams. ( Allow me to squee... )

I must say that work life without Uncle Johnny has been very pleasant and stress free. I hadn’t realized how loud and obnoxious he was until his absence.

Okay we have a new pope—I like that he’s from Argentina and a man of the people and I especially like that he picked the name Francis. Pope Frank sounds kind of tough which I approve of—of course an Irish priest from New York would be the toughest around, but I’m still good with it:) May God bless him and I hope he does a good job of leading the church.

Now enough of the real world, it’s time to talk about TV:

I appreciated that the show went with the retro credits—I liked the bigger and brighter lettering but the episode itself felt kind of off.

I’m ready and willing to give Scott Caan a pass on his “attack on Hawaii” for one simple reason—it hasn’t even been six months since his mother passed away. I know the first year after my father’s death felt like a fog and I’m sure I said things that were deemed inappropriate. In other words, give the poor man a break. He’s going through a lot and I have no doubt that he didn’t mean any harm.
