And for my other lj friends, Happy Monday! I know that I am enjoying my day off and attempting to work on my Chlex story challenge--I know what I want to happen, but I'm struggling with the words.
I did see Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead yesterday—that was the last of the three play series I had at the Wilma theater. I enjoy the crap out of Tom Stoppard plays and this one is particularly brilliant because it takes these two Shakespearian side characters that no one really thinks about and makes them infinitely human. Truly brilliantly done.
I thought the finale was a letdown and my hatred for Crowley continues to grow. I thought Rowena was less shrewish and shrill in her scenes with Charlie, Castiel and Sam and that she is at her worst with Crowley. The show needs to cut their losses and get rid of Crowley—the character lost any sense of menace when he was begging to be Dean’s bestie at the beginning of this season.
I actually thought that the Frankensteins should have been kept on as recurring villains and Rowena could stay as the big bad who pops up for sweeps episode. I understand why the show killed off Charlie because they had to up Dean and Sam’s emotional ante about the removal of the mark of Cain, but I’ll still miss the character—she was one of their better females.
