The Upcoming Labor Day Weekend

kitmerlot_1213So today is the 6th anniversary of my dad's passing and we are sticking by my mom-- my brother, my niece and my nephew will go with my mom to the mass being said in my dad's name and tonight, my mom and I are going out to dinner to celebrate his life.
I am annoyed that she has been yet again practically press ganged into going to that stupid picnic by the well meaning family friends and now the friends are trying to include me--yes, I want to spend my day off sitting around a table with older people for hours on end. One day I shall convince my mom that the only person she needs to worry about on Labor Day is herself.
