This is a 195 word Supergirl drabble for the Weekend Challenge at
1_million_words Enjoy!
“I think you need to go to a planet with a blue sun, like Nexxor.”
Kara looked up in surprise, startled at Mon-El’s completely random statement. She began to smile uncertainly thinking her friend was joking, but at seeing Mon-El’s earnest expression she quickly schooled her features into a serious expression.
“And why’s that?” she asked instead.
“Because blue stars would increase your powers exponentially,” Mon-El replied. “Hell, I bet you’d become so strong that you wouldn’t even have to fly anymore, you’d just zap from place to place like a bolt of lightning.”
Kara started to shake her head in disbelief but Mon-El spoke up quickly, trying to forestall any objections. “On Daxam, we were always trying to find a way to increase our advantages…”
But Kara wouldn’t be deterred. “Just because it's what was done on Daxam, doesn't mean it's what should be done."
“Who would say something that lame, the Prime Minister of the States?” he asked in annoyance.
“No, it was Cinderella,” Kara shot back.
For a second Mon-El looked blank but then his understanding of pop culture kicked in. “Ah yes, one of the great thinkers of the 20th century.”
