Peter Pan Live! and other Randomness Ahoy
Dec. 5th, 2014 09:52 amI adored Peter Pan. I though Allison Williams did an excellent job as Peter—unlike a certain country music star, Allison can actually sing and act which is a must for a musical theater production.
For the most part the Darling family were wonderful—the parents were pitch perfect as were the young boys playing John and Michael but the actress playing Wendy was trying too damn hard to be earnest. Christopher Borle in the dual role of Mr. Darling and the pirate Smee was particularly a revelation. He stole every scene he was in and did you see the muscles on that man’s arms? WOO HOO!!
The dance sequences involving The Lost Boys, pirates and Tiger Lily's tribe were excellent and definitely Broadway caliber.
I’m worried about Christopher Walken because he looked quite ill. He was strangely pale and he seemed almost lethargic in his scenes.
Overall, it was a lovely presentation.
