Grease Live!

I just finished hate watching the new version of Grease and what exactly is the message girls are supposed to take from this?  Sandy was the ultimate nice girl, wearing her 1950's good girl dresses, and yet by the end of the story, she feels she has to totally change into a decidely anti-nice girl appearance to truly get the guy?  Nice!
