Okay, I had a birthday on Wednesday, and it was a lovely day and I am deeply thankful for the family and friends I have in my life.
That being said, I was floored when the first report came out about Allison Mack being involved in a sex slave cult. I was a fan of Allison's since Smallville and I saw her in two off Broadway plays--I thought she was very talented and a feminist in both word and action.
I know when I first heard about the cult her and Kristin Kreuk were a part of, it seemed harmless enough--it seemed like there was a lot of word salad doublespeak trying to disguise itself as empowering young women. But now to read that there are women who are being blackmailed and held down and branded and that Allison might be a leader? Well, I'm just glad that the news show 20/20 will be investigating and airing a report on the cult tonight, Dec.15th at 10pm, on the east coast. I know I will be watching.
