Well at least in my opinion :):)
I have been feverishly rereading Pet Sematary since the New Year, and I've finally figured out why. While there is a part of me that is intrigued with the idea of resurrecting the dead, I don't think a single person on earth would ever want their loved one who has died to come back as a monster.
No, what I like is that despite all of the horrors, all of the pain, and all of the madness the Creed family suffered during the course of the book (and King does an outstanding job with getting us to love this family, so that when the horror starts unfolding, you are covering your eyes at almost every scene), I like that as soon as the terrifying ending happens, one can simply turn back to the first page, and the family is happy again. Louis and Ellie are sane, and Gage and Rachel are alive and well..
That is what I love about the book.
