Borrowed from the lovely [livejournal.com profile] cattraine:

Meme! Anyone who feels like it should post their ten most CRUCIAL-ASS movies, like the movies that explain everything about yourselves in your current incarnations (not necessarily your ten favorite movies but the ten movies that you, as a person existing currently, feel would help people get to know you) they can change later on obviously.

1.  The Wizard of Oz
2.  Sherlock Holmes:  A Game of Shadows
3.  Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid
4.  Monty Python and the Holy Grail
5.  While You Were Sleeping
6.  Good Will Hunting
7.  Silence of the Lambs
8.  The Conjuring
9.  Pride and Prejudice
10.  Captain America:  The Winter Soldier

I adore Good Will Hunting so much, it doesn't get the love it should. (Which P&P, though?)

I love all versions of Pride and Prejudice--the one with Greer Garson, the one with Elizabeth Ehle, the one with Kiera Knightley--they are all excellent :)

I prefer the Ehle one myself. The Garson one as I remember was just too different from the book. Colin Firth was great with all the lake-plunging. And you could tell his Darcy had a nascent sense of humour, esp. dealing with Miss Bingley, whereas I find McFadyean smackable and po-faced. Each to her own!
