I saw this on Tumblir, so I’m bringing it here--a Book Meme! List ten books that have stayed with you in some way. Don’t take but a few minutes, and don’t think too hard — they don’t have to be the “right” or “great” works, just the ones that have touched you, and the books do not have to be in any certain order.    ETA:  If you have any questions about my book choices, ask away!  :)

1.  To Kill a Mockingbird—Harper Lee
2.  Enter a Murderer—Ngaio Marsh
3.  The Adventure of the Speckled Band—Arthur Conan Doyle
4.  The Chronicles of Narnia - C.S. Lewis
5.  Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austin
6.  The Diary of Anne Frank—Anne Frank
7.  Pet Sematary - Stephen King
8.  The Outsiders—S.E. Hinton.
9.  The Order of the Phoenix—J.K. Rowling
10.   Jane Eyre—Charlotte Bronte

Now who wants to play?  :):)

I do love this. Do we get to ask questions, like why Order of the Phoenix but not the other HP books?

Very interesting!

My dear, you can ask me any questions you like!

I think I loved Order of the Phoenix the most because I loved learning Neville Longbottom's back story--the tragedy of his parents being tortured to the point of insanity is just heartbreaking but it also highlights just how brave they were and that Neville is just like them.

Ask any other questions you have and now I'm going to check out your list :)

How old were you when P&P made it's impact on you?

I did love the reveal of Neville and the possiblity that he could have been the chosen one, and that it really was chance. And too, it made you see him in a braver brighter light.

I read P&P once in high school and I thought it was cute but than when I reread it as an adult college student, and the story really made an impression.

In fact, I was able to take a 400 level class where we'd look at an author and all of their works through the society and time period they lived in and it just so happened Jane Austen was the author and we got to read all of her novels, her short story and two of her unfinished novels.

So, to answer your questions, I was twenty five years old when Pride and Prejudice impacted me :)
