Well this has been one hell of a Christmas holiday:):) Yesterday, I took my mom to see the ballet The Nutcracker and to today we finally got to see The Imitation Game and on New Year’s Eve we are going to see the last Hobbit film. WOO HOO!
I enjoyed The Imitation Game to an insane degree. It was outstanding and Benedict Cumberbatch deserves all of the awards. His Alan Turing was at times heart-breaking and then infuriating but he was always vulnerable-- I especially loved how dramatic it was when his machine finally cracked the enigma code. I teared up many times but the final scene that got me was after he was convicted and had to take “the treatment” and he started crying that they were going to take Christopher away. DAMN!
I wish Alan had married Joan because I think they would have been very happy together--they coud have continued their wonderful friendship and working partnership and good for her for wanting to support and help him through his difficulties. I now need to read Alan Turing's biography--I bet it's beyond fascinating.
