I am watching all of the Pope Francis coverage and while it's lovely to see all of the people gathering together to witness this wonderful man’s peaceful message, I find myself questioning the media’s need to reinforce the idea of a traditional marriage/family.  It is insulting to homosexual couples/families and I think the conservative Catholics need to rethink their 1950’s opinions.

But at least successive Popes seem to be getting a little more liberal in their outlook, as decades roll on. It makes me a little bit hopeful.

Oh I can see this new awesome Pope making many changes but it feels like the media is rubbing Traditional marriage in everyone's face and I can't stand it.

It's disappointing, especially when he seems incrementally more progressive (for a Pope). No matter what your religion is, it's a guide for your life, not something to force on others. These same people get all ticked off about groups like Isis and Boko Haram forcing their strictures on others, but don't see that they are they are also living by that mentality, albeit in a less violent way and more passive aggressive way.

Yes, forcing your own personal religious views down anyone's throat is never a good plan because people become resentful and the good intentions get lost.
