R.I.P Anton Yelchin

Man, but this is the summer for strange, tragic deaths: Anton Yelchin, 27, dies in a weird car accident.  He is best known for playing Ensign Chekov in the rebooted Star Trek series and I know the third movie is coming out in July.  How absolutely horrendous for his family and friends--my prayers are with them all.

Stunning, and so, so sad. His Chekov had such a deep, geeky sweetness about him. Awful :(

He was wonderful in Odd Thomas, which might be obscure but is a very fun little film. The girl who played Stormy was also terrific.

Accidental death is so discombobulating, disturbing - you feel if you could just roll back time a little way, just a little... So young, bloody hell.

You are right about accidental deaths--you can't help feeling that if you arrived at the scene a minute earlier, you could save the person.

What a senseless and awful way to die. I just finished an article on the new Star Trek hype and I am so sad to have to add this to it.

I can't help thinking about his poor family who will have to see his picture all over posters and advertisements for the third Star Trek movie--it will definitely be painful for them.
