Here is a 175 word Elementary drabble for the Weekend challenge at
1_million_words ENJOY!
It was becoming a common occurrence for Joan to walk into a room and to find Sherlock in mid-sentence.
“The theory of the crime involves Jack Boyle, well known pickpocket, and Mary Wesley, jewel thief. They worked in tandem to steal the black moonstone…”
The detective often talked out loud when he was hashing out a case, but there was usually someone—meaning her-- in the room with him while he spoke.
But before she could start to truly get worried, she noticed that he was talking into his phone and recording himself, but that now lead to a series of other questions.
Joan decided to go with the obvious. “Okay what gives?”
Sherlock raised an eyebrow inquiringly. “Gives?” he repeated.
“What’s with you taping yourself?” She said sighing exasperatedly
He brightened up immediately. “I’ve decided to transcribe my old cases, so other fledgling detectives might learn from my experiences.”
Joan nodded thoughtfully. “That’s actually a really good idea.”
He turned to her excitedly. “Let me tell you about London’s best safecracker, Crooked Carter Brown.”
