Despite the lack of McDanno, I enjoyed this episode:
I thought the mystery was quite clever and I liked how Max's back story tied into it. I thought Danny, Chin and Kono worked well together and SC in particular did a good job stepping into the "leader" role. The Danny/Chin bantering was cute and I also liked their interactions with Kamekona.
I did like Danny's worried look when he read Steve's letter because he knows that Steve's going off on his own never ends well and I thought it was sweet that he put the letter in his desk, probably to read over again. I also liked that he kept calling and leaving messages and damn, Steve could have answered at least one because he knows how worried Danny would be. And on a side note, Steve has lovely hand writing :)
I do have to wonder why Chin isn't more concerned about Steve's going off on his own considering how horrible the North Korean situation got. And I would think that Steve would also remember how badly it all happened the last time and not go off on his own because if Danny and company hadn't gone to find him, Wo Fat would have continued to torture him and then killed him.
Hopefully, the whole Joe White/Shelbourne thing will be tied up in the final epsiodes of this season because I don't think I can take any more.
