I appreciated that the show went with the retro credits—I liked the bigger and brighter lettering but the episode itself felt kind of off.
Things I liked:
Kono as the badass sniper she is and that Steve trusts her to get the job done
The McDanno bantering especially in the final scene. Steve’s smiling widely as he realizes just how much Danny worries about him was adorable and Danny’s flustered response was perfect.
I freaked when it was revealed that Duke got shot but than I was relieved that he was okay by the end of the episode
Things that I had problems with:
The show’s weighing in on the gun control debate. Yes, they made several good points on both sides: majority of gun owners are responsible people but once the shoot out started, the “responsible” gun storie owner morphed into the cliché of the unstable gun-toting psycho, holding a military style weapon and offering to be “back up” to law enforcement.
The final scene where Steve’s dad appears to him. That felt unnecessary and a little heavyhanded.
