Happy Halloween!
Borrowed from several of my friends' LJs and decided to join in the fun.
Here is the deal: reply to this post saying Trick or Treat! and I'll write you a story--probably drabble length. Please leave me a prompt or a favorite character pairing and I'll post the treats on October 31st.
I'm hoping lots of trick or treaters will stop by!
If you want to join the fun, please feel free to post this at your journal. Then I can knock on your door too.
Happy Halloween!
My fandoms:

Date: 2013-10-31 01:19 am (UTC)It was only an hour into their stakeout at St. Catherine’s Cemetery when Sherlock started to fidget.
He crossed and recrossed his legs, cracked the knuckles of his right hand before cracking his left, he unwrapped the scarf from around his neck only to put it back on two minutes later and at one point, he’d even begun to hum softly under his breath.
At first, John had ignored him, figuring that Sherlock had excess energy to wear off, but than the humming had stated to grow louder and John realized that they could potentially scare off the grave -robbers they were hunting for and that’s when he took action.
Sherlock’s yelp of surprise was quickly silenced when John put him in a head lock, and quickly covering his mouth.
“Now, I’m going to let you go, and you will tell me what the hell is going on with you,” Sherlock could feel John’s breath ghost against his ear as he whispered, “but God help you if you start humming again.”
At Sherlock’s nod, John removed his hand and loosened the hold he had of Sherlock’s neck.
John was surprised to see Sherlock looking embarrassed, and at John’s questioning look, his embarrassment grew.
“I just remembered that today’s Halloween,” Sherlock mumbled.
John shook his head,” What does that have to do with anything?”
“Well, I figured you would rather be at Molly’s party or maybe you’d rather be at the pub...” He trailed off, looking miserable and unlike his usual stoic self
John was touched that Sherlock was worried and he couldn’t help his reaction. He snorted in laughter and gently kicked Sherlock’s leg. “Hanging out in this cemetery with you? There isn’t anywhere else I’d rather be.”
John was glad to see Sherlock looking a little more hopeful but he still wasn’t entirely convinced.
John grinned slightly before adding; “Now we’ve got some grave-robbers to catch. You ready?”
At those words Sherlock smiled widely. “Oh the game is definitely on.”
The two friends nodded and settled down to continue the stake out, each one knowing that this was exactly where they wanted to be.

Date: 2013-10-31 01:45 am (UTC)Last year, if you’d asked Abbie Mills what she’d be doing on Halloween, she probably would have said patrolling the streets of Sleepy Hollow, keeping an eye on all of the little trick or treaters and making sure none of the adults got too carried away.
She never would have guessed that she’d be standing in the middle of the words with a soldier from the Revolutionary War, hunting for a heedless horseman.
“Miss Mills,” Crane’s voice echoed softly amongst the trees. “I want to thank you for accompanying me tonight, but it would appear our search is in vain.”
She’d had a weird feeling all day that there’d be some kind of a break in the horseman’s case and she learned to never ignore her gut. “Just half an hour more. “ She looked around as the tree limbs waved in the breeze, their bare branches standing out starkly against the moonless sky. “I’ve got this feeling…”
A branch cracked and they both turned towards the sound, as a horse with glowing red eyes stepped out into the clearing.

Date: 2013-10-31 02:08 am (UTC)“I swear, only Lex Luthor would get married on Halloween!”
Chloe could hear the catty voices of two of Metropolis’ snootiest socialites halfway across The Talon. “And to have the wedding in this backwater dump?”
The two women were so scandalized that they failed to see the approaching figures of Lana Lang Ross and Lois Lane Kent until it was too late.
“You do both realize that everyone can hear you right?” Lois asked snidely.
Lana leaned in conspiratorially as she whispered, “In other words, Lex and Chloe can hear you.” She waited a beat before speaking again, “At they aren’t too pleased.”
Both Lois and Lana broke apart so the two unfortunately dim-witted souls could see just how much they were irking the newlyweds.
Now Lois leaned forward again. “So I’d shut your traps if I were you before…” and here Lois paused dramatically.
She and Lana exchanged a quick look before Lana finished Lois’ sentence. “We throw your ugly asses out of here.”
The two socialites nodded before scurrying out of the way of the bride’s two matrons of honor.
They grinned at each other before throwing Chloe a triumphant thumbs up.
Lana glanced around, clearly enjoying herself. “Who’s next?”
Lois and Lana were determined to give their two friends the biggest, splashiest wedding that Smallville had ever seen and they were damned if they would let anyone spoil Chloe and Lex’s happiness.
Even if they had to beat up half of Smallville.

Date: 2013-10-31 01:43 pm (UTC)“Hey babe, where are you? Grace is going to be here…”
Danny stopped short when he saw Steve’s kitchen table. Or rather what was covering Steve’s kitchen table.
Because transforming it was the most beautiful display Danny had ever seen.
The kitchen table was virtually covered in bowls—Danny counted and there were exactly 22—and each of the bowls were filled to the brim with a different variety of candy corn.
Danny could see the classic, orange, white and yellow candy corn, but there was also the kind with the chocolate tips—they were Danny’s favorite because that pack also came with the little candy pumpkins which were beyond badass--and there were varieties of candy corn that were just black and white and in one case pink and white and Danny was completely overwhelmed.
But before Danny could even form a question, Steve was at his side, his arm tentatively around the shorter man’s shoulders. “I know candy corn is your favorite and I wanted to surprise you,” Steve said, somewhat bashfully.
“By buying every kind of corn there was?” Danny asked incredulously.
Steve nodded, looking unsure of himself. He started to move his arm when Danny suddenly wrapped his arms around Steve’s waist in a fierce hug.
“You are a menace but you mean well,” Danny said, his voice slightly muffled by Steve’s shirt.
Steve grinned goofily and hugged Danny back just as tightly. “Happy Halloween, Danno.”

Date: 2013-10-31 02:06 pm (UTC)Steve paced briskly in front of Danny and Grace.
Each time he would stop and glare at the pair and look like he was about to start speaking, but then he’d start pacing again.
Grace and Danny exchanged worried looks, unsure if they should try and speak or just let Steve continue to stew.
Finally Grace bravely raised her hand, “Uncle Steve, it was supposed to be a joke. Back in Weehawkin, Danno and I did this every Mischief Night.”
She turned to smile sunnily at her dad and Danny spoke up. “Yeah, it was just a harmless prank…”
Danny froze at Steve’s stony look so he tried another tactic. “Soap washes right off of windows and the toilet paper in the trees is easily cleaned up.”
Grace piped right up, “We’ll go and clean up your yard right now, but just don’t be mad at us any more.” And then Grace pulled out all of the stops and added a “Please Uncle Steve?”
There wasn’t a person on this Earth who could resist a patented Grace Williams heartfelt plea and Steve was complete mush when it came to Grace.
Steve sighed loudly and simply held out his arms and both Williams’ flung themselves at him.
“What am I going to do with you two?” Steve asked scoldingly. “I was about to call CSI out to gather evidence of vandalism.”
Grace hung her head guilty but Danny snorted. “Vandalism with soap and toilet paper? Please, you should have seen the time Matty and I had a whole carton of eggs…”
He glanced from Steve’s horrified look to Grace’s interested one and he snapped his mouth shut. “On second though, let’s get cracking on cleaning up your uncle’s place, Monkey, or there will be no Halloween for either of us.”
Steve shook his head and once again wondered just how much of a juvenile delinquent Danny had actually been when he lived in Jersey. He just hoped that Grace didn’t take after him in that aspect.
