kitmerlot_1213: (Elementary/Joan Sherlock)

I haven’t done a Random Television Show Post in awhile so here goes—I shall start with the positive and end with the negative:

My love for Elementary continues to grow exponentially.  I love the close bond that Sherlock and Joan have and they trust each other implicitly, not just with cases but that they have each others best interests at heart.  But now we have Mycroft trying to get Sherlock back to London and I have to wonder why.  Is he going to be revealed as working for the British government so that the character stays in line with ACD canon?  The one thing Mycroft did underestimate is Joan’s loyalty to Sherlock—she knows that Sherlock doesn’t want to be under his dad’s thumb anymore and she’s more than willing to back any play that helps separate them from Holmes, Sr.  I look forward to Mycroft’s reappearance and to see what’s revealed about him next.  Plus, more Clyde:)

I couldn’t be more thrilled that season three of Sherlock will be shown on PBS on January 19th, right after Downton Abbey. I was afraid that we might have to wait until May and I knew I wouldn’t be able to avoid spoilers for that long.  I can’t wait to see the first meeting between Sherlock and John and what that conversation will reveal.  I’m also looking forward to meeting Mary Morstan and how she fits into things and I also want to see more of Mycroft and Sherlock’s relationship.  In short, I want it all.

I am also enjoying Sleepy Hollow and the all of the awesome and bizarre supernatural elements that the show brings. Abbie and Ichabod have a good foundation for their growing friendship but the show never forgets his love for his wife.  Nice!

I also think Supernatural has been rather good especially once the writers dropped the stupid Amelia subplot and just focused on the brothers.  The show is at its best when Sam and Dean are working together, helping others while still figuring out their complicated sibling relationship.  And I also like the additions of Kevin and Castiel, but Crowley is starting to get old.

I am very disappointed with the lack of Danny Williams on Hawaii Five-0 this season.  Scott Caan is one of this show’s strongest actors and to see him sidelined in favor of the mediocre acting of Michelle Borth is frankly insulting.  Adding more Catherine scenes should not mean that Danny’s scenes get cut but that’s what is happening and it is lessening my enjoyment of the show.
