One of the single greatest episodes in the history of the Sherlock Holmes fandom--I'm seriously not kidding :) :)

I'm Sherlock squeeing over here :):) )

So, I took a half day vacation from work and I saw the final Hobbitt movie and it was wonderful.  As fabulous as all of the actors are--Aidan Turner and Dean O'Gorman are especially excellent as Kili and Fili--it's Martin Freeman who really brings all of the heart to the movie and it's his reactions that you keep waiting for when you're watching the film.

I just came back from a nice New Year's Eve dinner--the food was wonderful but the company was kind of painful and I wonder how awful it would be to spend the last day of the year just chilling out at home.  I might try that next year.

I loved Seth Myers slam in his opening monologue about the Emmys being on network television where only cable and Netflix shows were getting nominated--AWESOME!

My squeeing about the Sherlock domination :) )

While I am thrilled for Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman and for Sherlock and Fargo for getting so many nominations, why are network television shows frozen out of Best Drama nominations?  Are the Emmy voters seriously telling us that the only worthwhile dramas are on cable and PBS?  Snobs, the lot of you.

I saw The World's End yesterday and it was damn hysterical.

and I enjoyed the crap out of it :)

The dwarves were just as cool and entertaining as the Fellowship of the Ring in the original trilogy.

And I loved seeing Christopher Lee in all of his evil glory but I thought he and Peter Jackson were in some sort of feud.

My PBS station has finally shown season 2 of Sherlock and holy crap but it was awesome!

Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman just owned their roles--it was a thing of brilliance to watch.
